Come Watch The Show Live at D.B.’s Tomorrow
As TheITDRoll.com Morning After approaches its fifth anniversary---and when you include The Morning Grind’s two plus years we’re looking at a seventh anniversary---I’m pleased to say that either we’ve become accepted…or the old bats have just given up the ship on trying to shut the operation down.
When The Morning Grind first started in 2004, the KFNS management---not the people who run the station now---were freaked out by the number of complaints they got from the “talk sports” people.
So, they almost got rid of the show a couple of months in.
The “talk sports” people still pop up here and there, but for the most part, they’ve moved on to Tebow Talk and Yankees’ coverage.
We now have gone from having to operate like a speakeasy to being loud, proud, and creepy.
What has transpired with Foot Fetish Friday is a prime example.
Jennings Jr’s “mild appreciation for feet” led to Foot Fetish Friday. It also led to the historic segment in which adult film star Kayden Kross was in our studio and sucking the toes of female listeners.
A tradition like no other was born…and it continues now 18 months later whenever Jennings fills in for The Cat or Doug.
Well, I’m pleased to say the segment has now led to advertising revenue.
The ladies of D.B.’s have been in for Foot Fetish Friday two different times now, and the people at D.B.’s said the girls’ appearances on the show have led to such a huge response that they want to do business with us.
At the University of Missouri Journalism School, they taught me to seek excellence by pursuing the who, what, where, when, and why.
That all can lead to Emmy’s and terrible local television talent contracts, but if you want to make money, the move is to ditch the five w’s and replace them with the three f’s: Foot Fetish Friday.
As a start to our business relationship with D.B.’s, TheITDRoll.com Morning After will be broadcasting live from D.B.’s Charity Bikini Car Wash tomorrow morning. The fun and games are located at D.B.’s, which is at 1615 South Broadway in Soulard.
While I would love to watch Larry Nickel get his car washed…or whoever drops him off get their car washed…the car wash with the lovely lasses of D.B.’s and Trueman’s Place does not get underway until 11. It goes until 5 p.m.
But, come by, watch the show, and then stick around for the car wash. Besides, with a Cardinal day game and all proceeds going to benefit St. Louis City Police Officers David Haynes and Sgt. Rick Lingard, it should be a prime day for some delicious BBQ and beverages.
