Pineapple Express trailer
(note:cool skateboard thing at end)
“Thug Liiife.” In continuing my quest to bring you, the loyal readers of the insideSTL music section, free swag, I used the above quote from the Pineapple Express trailer as inspiration in making this dream a reality. Since I am the epitome of Thug Life (READ: I ocasionally listen to 'Bourbons and Lacs' by Master P), I rolled through with my posse, the B.A.P, and demanded screening passes using intimidation and blaring Rick Ross’s ‘Boss’ (READ: asked/begged extremely politely).

Easily one of the most anticipated comedies of the summer, Pineapple Express is the next offering from those guys who brought us Superbad. Seth Rogen plays Dale Denton, a process server who enjoys dominating his craft and smoking good pot. James Franco plays Saul Siver, a dope dealer who enjoys advances in weed-smoking technology and also smoking good pot. Once Denton (Rogen) witnesses a murder, the two are thrown into a series of wacky events while running from a vicious drug baron.
The interaction between Franco and Rogen is reminiscent of Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels in Dumb and Dumber. While no film will ever take the place of Dumb and Dumber, this is a different incarnation of the film, and could possibly pass with the title High and Higher. With quite a few quotable moments and an excellent supporting cast (highpoint: Red aka Danny McBride), this film will fulfill any summer hunger for a laughable comedy.
I was able to get my hands on a few pairs of advance screening passes for this Tuesday, August 5, 7:00 p.m. at Ronnies 20 Cine and some swag bags.
All you have to do is answer me this one question: In the trailer above, what is the name of the song and artist? I will even give you a hint. The artist’s name is M.I.A.

Having nothing to actually do with Pineapple Express,
here is Rick Ross's 'Boss'. Enjoy
