Each Monday morning, Gary Pinkel
will take part in the Big 12 coaches' teleconference. This week, he had some roster movement to announce.
First off, Pinkel said that linebacker Van Alexander is being termed as doubtful for the Illinois game. Alexander tore his ACL late in spring practice and the Tigers hoped he could return for the first game. While Pinkel said Alexander is close to healthy and will travel, he is unlikely to see action.
One player who should see action that was not anticipated is freshman Wes Kemp. Pinkel said Kemp, along with fellow freshman receivers Michael Egnew (moved from TE) and Jerrell Jackson, will play this season. He also said safety Kenji Jackson could still work himself into the rotation.
Finally, tailback Drew Temple was cleared by the NCAA over the weekend. Rolandis Woodland is still in limbo, but Pinkel said he hopes to have an answer by the end of the week.
