From any and all indications via their website and Twitter, it is looking as though the long running benefit festival Farm Aid will be coming to St. Louis this year. Sources are tight lipped about the situation but there is a major announcement about Farm Aid planned for this Thursday in historic Soulard Farmers Market.
Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp organized the first Farm Aid concert in 1985 to raise awareness about the loss of family farms and to raise funds to keep farm families on their land. Farm Aid has raised more than $33 million to support local farmers and their efforts continue to grow year by year.

A few clues have been leaked via Farm Aid's Twitter about the announcement of a new location for the show this year. Just a few of their Tweets lead you to believe there is an STL connection:
- Your state feeling left out? This year's concert will be in a city & state where Farm Aid has never been held!
- This year's concert will be in a state that is in the top 12 for number of farms!
- The city where this year's concert will be got its name way back in the 1700s.
- The city for this year's concert has a professional sports team named after an animal.
- If everyone from this year's Farm Aid state showed up, we'd need over 5 million seats! And who knows how much beer!?
We will know more information after the Thursday press conference but it could be a good bet that Farm Aid will be coming to an ampitheater near you this Fall. Always toting a top notch lineup and a great cause, this one will be something not to miss.
