There are times that you hear something and it just grabs you. You don't worry about what genre it fits in, but it just grabs you and you want to hear more. That is the way I felt when I first heard Corey Smith back in the Spring of 2006. His music
was passed along to me by my friend Jacob and once I started listening I wanted to hear as much as I could. That was over 3 years and 12 shows ago, and it will be shows 13 and 14 after the beginning of November.
I have never really tried to define the type of music Corey plays because it doesn't fit into any one genre. Part Southern Rock. Part Traditional Country (not Pop Country---see Rascal Flatts and the rest of the garbage). Part Rock. Its all there. All of his albums are available on iTunes, including an album of outtakes from a live show.
I had an opportunity to chat with Corey this week and you can hear the interview here
Also, you can follow Corey on his Official Website, Twitter, Facebook or MySpace. Check out his site for tour dates, but you will be able to catch him in Carbondale on the 5th of November, Columbia, MO on the 6th, and Urbana on the 7th.
