A Message From The Ryan Kelley Morning After

Per Dan Caesar’s article in today’s Post-Dispatch, it looks like our show’s time at KFNS is coming to an end. We had heard rumors about this for a couple of weeks, and that is why, even though we didn’t know for sure, I tried to address it yesterday…and also discuss our plans.

So, for those of you who missed it yesterday, I’ll say it again today:

We really enjoy working at KFNS, and we'd be happy to keep doing the show there for years to come.

But, at the same time, we're also interested in continuing to grow our business, and so over the last few months, we've begun the process of looking for a radio station to buy. With the combination of our show, insideSTL.com, and the other personalities who have expressed interest in joining us, we have investors who are intrigued by the possibility of starting up a new station.

This is a process that began close to a year ago, and over that time, we’ve discovered some strong signals that are available.

It is our opinion that with the audience the show has, the interest from personalities that we think would put on or already do put on a hell of a show, and, really, most importantly our sales staff, that we would be able to build a damn good station.

But, I don’t know my ass from a hole in the ground, so I could be wrong.

Either way, we wish the syndicated show Bubba The Love Sponge and the new management at KFNS the best in changing the format to 590 The Man and 1380 The Woman.

"590 The Man and 1380 The Woman"?

Forgive me, I'm usually good at picking up on this shit...but is that real or a parting shot...and it's scary that I have to ask.

I'm sure hoping it was a shot.

Tim, good luck in wherever you end up. Wherever that is, I'll be listening.

Just a couple quick thoughts of my own...

from the Caesar article..."That program certainly has many elements of “man talk,” but also has a significant amount of sports."...ummmm...have they ever listened to the show? They must have missed the Bachelor recap.

Your show talks about girls, sports, TV, pop culture, and general "ass-grabbery" as you call it...if that's not "guy talk" then I guess I have to go check my estrogen levels. They must have heard Mike and Mike bleeding in and thought it was you guys talking sports (just kidding).

I'm trying to decide which quote from the Caesar article I liked more.."I’m very good at sales" or "I have a diversified portfolio, and I love talking to ladies". (For those who haven't read the article, neither of these were Tim)

Tim, Sorry to hear this but I'm sure it will work out when you purchase 1190, ha.
If you would talk more about poker maybe things would go differently.

Best of luck.

Listener since the Grind days. Hope to hear the show back on the air soon, preferably on a stronger signal. I would even consider go satellite to follow the show.

Thank you for being a welcomed alternative to the milquetoast that is the majority of St. Louis morning radio and for the ridiculous number of inside jokes, innuendos, songs etc over the years (Tina E, THE Joshua esp. "BOy Foy", The Communards, "3...6...", "Um, yeow", "Chambers You My Boy", Best fries in St. Louis, Brad/Josh/Klaus/Viper and so so many more).
