Larry Nickel Gets You Ready For AFC/NFC Party And Girl Next Door of The Year
What a morning we wake up to in St. Louis.

We have starms like the dickens.
The NFL team announcing a new head coach.
The baseball team heading to The White House.
One of the local college basketball teams is ranked #5 in the country as it improved yesterday to 17-1.
And, the NHL team has the most points in the league and leads the Western Conference this deep into the season for the first time since February 2001, the last time they played in the Western Conference Finals.
While all of that is impressive, all of it has happened before.
Never has Larry Nickel, Joshua, Tretter, and 14 Girls Next Door shared the same stage. We're on the verge of making that happening, and it could happen quite soon.
It's only five days away: The insideSTL And Grand Slam Sports AFC/NFC Championship Party at Lumiere Place.
Eight plus hours of food, football, and delicious beverages. And, there's also the fact that 14 lovely ladies will begin their competition for insideSTL Girl Next Door of The Year (to be awarded with The Girl Next Door of The Year Party at The Pepper Lounge January 27th). The first step is Sunday at Lumiere with our judges and your crowd noise when they walk the runway.
It all gets underway at noon at The Lumiere Place Theater (where we've had it the last two years...second floor...right above Burger Bar).
$15 gets you in the door...or $50 gets you the almost-all-inclusive pass, which means you get your food all day long inside the theater from Stadium Sports Bar And Grill, Burger Bar, and Asia...and you get select beverages as well (if you want to know exactly what...email me at tmckernan@insidestl.com). My recommendation is to get there early...so you can make sure you get a table...and take advantage of the almost-all-inclusive ticket.
We are still in negotiations with Joshua, as St. Louisans are demanding a live performance of Little Angels, but we have come to an agreement with Tretter...best known for his sick beat in October 2011 that many analysts credit for the Cardinal comeback against the Cubs in Game 158. The beat? "Chambers, You're My Boy." Sunday will be the first time this song has ever been performed live. It also may be the last. Be a part of history.

Now, as I mentioned, we'll have judges for when the ladies walk the runway. One of our judges, Patriot Larry Nickel, has written his own version of the events this Sunday at Lumiere Place in what he calls a column. Do with it what you want. I think it's quite lovely:
This Sunday (January 22, 2012) will be the AFC/NFC Championship Party at Luminere Place Hotel and Casino starting at noon with a live broadcast of the ITD Morning After with Tim McKernan, Doug Vaughn and Jimmy "The Cat" Hayes and this will be my first one that I have been to. It will be a good time for one and all and the events of this will be bigger than the previous years because the Girl Next Door of the Year Contestants will take the stage and they will be judged by a celebrity panel of Kevin Slaten, Kenny "Iggy" Strode and of course yours truly Larry Nickel. The food will be provided by restaurants from the Casino and for $50 you will be able to have all you can eat and all you can drink of select drinks (due to Missouri Gaming) but if you cant afford the $50 but you want to come out and watch the games you can pay $15. You can also meet your favorite show hosts from your favorite shows on either Grand Slam Sports Stations (590 the Fan KFNS and Sports Radio 1380). The AFC Championship Game between the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots will follow the live broadcast of the ITD Morning After (about 1:30) and then the NFC Championship Game between the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Giants will follow (about 4:15). You can also meet the Miller Lite Fan Girls as well. Please make this year the best in the years that this event has been going on. Thanks goes out the the marketing and promotions department of Grand Slam Sports (Candice Walton and her staff) for doing this event year after year. Well this will do it for me this time and hopefully I will do more articles for insidestl.com in the future.
