As we approach our Seventh Anniversary, it strikes me that we’ve had a pretty stable operation…for being such an unstable operation.
Everyone at the insideSTL offices on a daily basis has been there for a good long while, and everyone on TheITDRoll.com Morning After, with the exception of Iggy, has been together for almost five years.
I’m attempting to pay myself a compliment for great leadership skills…when in reality I’m to the success of insideSTL what Barry Switzer was to the success of the Dallas Cowboys.
It’s a similar management style. I encourage doing whatever the hell you want in the hours you’re not working, and I don’t give a damn what you do while you’re on the clock…as long as the job gets done.
So, if you like hardly ever seeing your boss and working for someone who encourages vacation, then insideSTL just might be the place for you.
We are looking to add on to our staff by bringing in a sales intern or two. Now, I know many of you see the term “intern” and think, “Well, that’s not really a job.”
And, I respect that.
However, I would point to The Non-Gay, who started as an intern and became a host/Blues’ writer/producer of TheITDRoll.com Morning After…and then made his way to Saint Louis University Law School.
And, one of our current salespeople, Rachel Speh, started off as an intern…and now she’s a full-time member of the sales staff.
The truth is that the key to insideSTL and the show is our sales staff. My father---the man who has gotten me every job I’ve ever had---leads the sales team along with Melissa Marr and Rachel Speh. And, as we’ve seen this Summer, a sales intern can be quite a help.
And, who knows…it could lead to a job at insideSTL.
