Announcing The insideSTL Bar Olympics IV at Friendly’s
Did you know that the third version of The Olympic Games was held in St. Louis in 1904?
Did you know that the World’s Fair was also in St. Louis in 1904?
Did you know that about a year ago, some random 21 year-old in New York---when told that I was from St. Louis---said she loved St. Louis, because “she loved the World’s Fair?”
All of the above are true.
And, all of the above are a poor literary device I’m attempting to use to transition into insideSTL’s Bar Olympics IV.
The fourth Olympic Games were held in London.
Our fourth Bar Olympic Games will be held at Friendly’s.
Sara Bruce, Jennings Randolph Jr., and Justin Boyd will be leading the festivities once again, and if you like the idea of drinking and playing bar games for some super sweet prizes, then The Bar Olympics is for you.
The Bar Olympics Committee has made some changes to improve upon the already successful Bar Olympiad. Unlike in the past, when there’s been a Finals Night…that lasted until around 3 a.m., this time it will be a round robin each outing. Here’s a look at the games and the schedule:
Jan 24th (6:30pm) - DARTS TOURNEY
Feb 7th (6:30pm) - POOL TOURNEY
Feb 21st (6:30pm) - SKEE BALL TOURNEY
Mar 7th (6:30pm) - TRIVIA NIGHT
Mar 21st (6:30pm) - BAGS TOURNEY
All of the events will take place at Friendly’s Sports Bar And Grill.
Here’s how it works:
16-20 teams of 2 players (with an alternate) will register to compete in The 2013 Bar Olympics presented by Friendly's Sports Bar & Grill and insideSTL. Each weekly event will be a round robin tournament with the overall winners taking home weekly prizes. Points will be given for finishing position in each event and at the end of all 5 events, the team with the most points will receive the Bar Olympics Grand Prize.
If you and your friends would like to register a team, please do so by clicking HERE.
Sara B., Jay Jr., and JBoyd have done a hell of a job with this promotion, and it’s always popular. If it weren’t, we wouldn’t be on our fourth one. So, give it a shot, register, and find yourself winning prizes for playing traditional bar games.
