The Rasmus Dump exists because Colby Rasmus is clobbering home runs. Last night he had two homers to help the Cards defeat Arizona 9-4. For the season, Colby is hitting .273 with 5 home runs and 10 RBI.
HOWEVAH ... ... ...
On the road, Rasmus has 11 hits in 25 at bats. That's a .440 average with four home runs and seven RBI. Freaking crazy. It's crazy because once Rasmus stops hitting .056 at Busch Stadium, his overall numbers will jump, even with a decline of the road numbers (unless of course Colby wants to hit .440 on the road all season).
FUN FACT ABOUT COLBY
Pat Parris and Rick Horton inform me that Colby Rasmus is the 1st Cardinals player since Reggie Smith to hit two home runs and a triple in the same game. Here's a picture of Reggie Smith.
DERRICK GOOLD SAYS RASMUS POPPED A BIG ONE
Who is responsible for that headline?
IF YOU'RE KEEPING SCORE AT HOME
The Cards banged out nine runs on 12 hits with three home runs. That means your drinks at Mobile on the Run are a quarter, your Sonic blasts are 99 cents and your dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts are just 2.99. The 2010 Cardinals: making us fat and helping us die prematurely!
Today's the big day. If the Rams draft Sam Bradford, I'll be happy. If they draft Ndamukong Suh I'll probably be happier. I'll most definitely be happy if the Rams draft Suh and trade draft picks for Ben Roethlisberger. Will it happen? No; but this fan can at least dream.
BLUES PLAYOFF REPORT
The 2001 Blues reached the Western Division Conference Finals after sweeping the crap out of Eddie Belfour and the Dallas Stars. Scott Young and Pierre Turgeon are not Hull and Oates but they were solid.
