Hi everyone. Hope you had a good Memorial Day weekend. Matt Adams sure did.

IS MATT ADAMS A LEFTHANDED HITTING ALLEN CRAIG?
It sure seems like it based off a small sample size. Through 9 games and 34 at bats, Adams is hitting .382 with a homer, 5 RBI and 1.034 OPS. Said his
hitting coach Mark McGwire before Monday's game: "Like it is with most kids, it's all about the strike zone.  But the one advantage ... he has over a lot of young players is that he doesn't have a lot of moving parts (in his swing). So his adjustments to offspeed pitches and different pitches are going to be quick adjustments. And he knows the strike zone. This week, he's gone out of the strike zone a couple of times. But he's regrouped and done quite nicely."

Adams put this on display Monday afternoon, striking out with the bases loaded in the 1st inning on pitches outside of the strike zone. He regrouped to finish with 3 hits and 3 RBI. So far, Adams is who we thought he was. With Craig expected back from the DL late this week, it will be interesting to see how often the two of them are in the lineup together, if at all. Can Matt Adams pitch? Figured I'd ask.

Speaking of Craig, one writer says the Cards
should give Craig a shot at 3B

This is a result of
Freese's sore wrist, which kept him out of Monday's game but isn't expected to linger to the point a DL visit. Let's hope so.

If you had Lance Lynn, Chris Capuano and R.A. Dickey atop your wins leaderboard
through two months of the season, give yourself a round of applause.

Here's video of Carlos Beltran
flipping his teammate the bird in a joking manner. At least I think that's what's going on here.

MATT HOLLIDAY CONTINUES TO POLARIZE
Holliday had 2 hits in 3 at bats and a walk in Monday's win. He also struck out with runners in scoring position in the 1st inning. I'm not one of the crazies who think Holliday is a worthless hack, but his numbers this season with runners in scoring position are pretty terrible. He's hitting
.190 with 1 HR and 18 RBI in 58 at bats. His overall numbers are solid: .274, 10 HR, 32 RBI but you figure he'd have 40 RBI if he was at least hitting .250 with RISP. For a #3 hitter, that has to change.

OTHER THINGS
The artist formerly known as Ron Artest and "that crazy guy who went crazy on the fans in the stands", Metta World Peace, wished everyone a Happy Labor Day yesterday.
For real. That's sad and pathetic.

Rams rookie WR Brian Quick missed the Rams' organized team activities last week because he missed his flight even though he was at the airport. The reason?
