Hello everyone. Hope you enjoyed your weekend. I sure did. I spent my Saturday raging at Summer Rage '12, sponsored by Dirt Cheap, Miller Lite and Blue Moon. Had a fantastic time with friends and the Jay Randolph bobblehead doll.
Right now I'm going to hand it off to the TV weather-person.
"It's going to be hot out there today so make sure you dress light, wear plenty of sunscreen and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Reporting live from the master of the obvious storm center, I'm a broken record."
THAT'S A WINNER!
And that's more like it. The Cards finished off their first sweep since the last one by scoring 30 runs in 3 games against the Royals. The additions of Jay, Carpenter and (early last week) Skip Schumaker have helped immensely. It's not the only story, though. Matt Holliday is heating up. In the sweep of the Royals, Holliday went 8-for-12 with 5 runs, 4 RBI, 2 doubles and 3 BB. Over his last 8 games, Holliday has 17 hits in 31 AB's and has upped his average from .267 to .299. Even better, he's improved his pedestrian avg with RISP to .253.
It's on to Miami for the Redbirds.
AROUND STL
Lance Lynn's performance Sunday did him no favors in his bid for the All Star game.
KMOX is leaving its offices on One Memorial Drive.
The latest installment of Legopiece Theater, featuring Al Hrabosky clogging up the Lego-waves live at Lego-Shannon's.
Sam Bradford and the Rams rookies took to Joplin, MO on Friday.

DAN CAESAR IS FULL OF POO-POO
From Caesar's June 22nd article about NBA TV ratings in St. Louis: "If you listen to a lot of sports-talk radio in this market, you rarely hear much NBA conversation unless Frank Cusumano is behind the microphone."
Blasphemy. At the same time Frank is on the air, you can hear Bernie Miklasz talking about the Thunder and Heat. At different times of the day, you can hear other conversations about basketball too. I suppose Dan hasn't listened to St. Louis radio over the past oh, I don't know, 6 months.
AL HRABOSKY LIKES FRIED CHICKEN
If you've been watching the Cards on FS Midwest lately, you've probably noticed Hungo has been going ga-ga for Schnucks' fried chicken. I did a quick Google search for "Al Hrabosky Fried Chicken" and got nothing. It was upsetting. Where am I going with this? Nowhere. Here's some pictures of Al showing off his love of chicken.

ON THIS DAY IN 1985 ...
... ABC shook up the Monday Night Football booth when it added Joe Namath and OJ Simpson as color commentators while Frank Gifford retained play-by-play duties. The trio lasted all of one season and is unique to sports history in that one man would have an affair with his wife (Gifford), one man would covet said wife (Namath) and one man would dream of slashing that wife.
I'll be here all week, folks.

Fun with baseball manager ejections. My favorite part comes at the 2:02 mark. Language NSFW. It's a Wally classic.
