Happy Monday everyone. Shhh; listen.
Hear that? That's the sound of Dusty Baker's paranoia creeping in.
Good lord. The man is obsessed and possessed. His head's spinning around and he's puking up green stuff.
For his part, Tony La Russa has been focused on the All Star game for quite some time: "I've been so excited about the opportunity that literally ... I was watching by the first week in April, I was already starting to see who was hot and who was not."
That's not surprising. La Russa also commented on not selecting Matt Holliday: "On the position side, there's always some guys with stats [who were left out]. I don't know, Matt Holliday was one that has really been hot and is having another really good year. It was tough leaving him out, especially since we have history. It's a tough process, but it's not as tough as it used to be. You get 24 players and then the [Final Vote], so that's 25. So all you really have to do is pick nine guys."

JOHNNY CUETO IS HIGH
Gotta love Cueto's comments about dating La Russa's past lovers.
“I see that I have great numbers. I thought the way I pitched this year, I’d have a chance to go to the All-Star Game. I don’t know what happened. I don’t know if the manager of All-Star Game is (ticked) at me because I went out with one of his girlfriends.”
Considering Cueto wasn't selected by the players, maybe it's symbolic of the fact that the players don't respect him? Oh, I know, Cueto went out with all of the players' girlfriends too.

CARDS GIVE RANDY KARRAKER A LOOK FOR BULLPEN ROLE
At this point, it wouldn't hurt.
Speaking of the bullpen, Viva El Birdos attempts to explain the volatility of Mark Rzepcynski.
And Bleacher Report has some trade scenarios that could fix the bullpen. What, no Tyler Johnson call up?

Watching Bo Jackson dominate the 1989 All Star Game is a memory I will never forget.
That year, the Cardinals had 4 All Star representatives. You can see them below.
