So will it be 33 bucks a week or for the entire tournament?

It will be a monthly tournament.

Hopefully it'll go through with the idea of alternating between Wed/Thurs. Wednesdays are generally bad for me due to prior commitments. Well, assuming I won't make it, good luck to everyone and hope it goes well.

So will you have to pay 33 bucks a week or just 33 bucks a month. You forgot I am the board idiot.

No worries. I'm probably not as clear as I could be. That's what happens when you are trying to work, play poker, and post at the same time.
Its $33 bucks per month (1 tournament per month @$33).

Doug:
Just looked at the PokerStars tournament page - it is set for 6:30, but E.T. Can you change it to C.T., or change it to 7:30 E.T.? or do you need to create a new tournament?

It needs to be changed to 7:30 EST. This happened before in another league I was in.

Crap. I never could tell time correctly.
Anyway, its fixed. Changed to 19:30 EST which, if I do my math correct, is 6:30 CST. Title of the tourney and password are the same.

My first official post...
I plan on being in the league. I typically play on UB (small stakes), but registered on PokerStars over the weekend to get ready for this stuff.
Can someone recommend the easiest way to get money out there? They all have a few options. Just curious what seems to work the best. I got a phone call from the credit card company with my last deposit to UB.

This is a bummer for me. I work 3rd shift, start at 9:00 so unfortunately, i'm out. 6:30 start only gives me 2 hours which probably isn't enough time.
So this is only one Wednesday a month?

I think the easiest way to get money into PokerStars is to use the e-check. It is basically like making an online payment. Money is debited out of your checking account and immediately credited into your PokerStars account.
If this is your first time using the e-check method, you might want to process your debit a couple of days ahead of the tournament in case there is a hold placed on the money for using the system for the first time (I can't remember if there is one).

E-CHECK is what i used. it took less than 5 minutes for the money to hit my account.

yes, i think we decided on first wednesday but since insidstl has theirs next wednesday it has changed.

E-checks is the way to go. The only drawback is that you can only deposit $100 for the first deposit. You have to wait about 10 days before you can deposit again.

Just a couple of questions? How will the payout be? How much will carry over for league points, and will you allow late registration as 6:30 is going to be tough as I generally walk in the door between 6:30 and 7. I assume each tourney will always be NL hold em and it will not be turbo tourney (how long will each blind be?)
Great idea and I hope the turn out is high.

Great idea and I hope the turn out is high.I don't know all the answers, but you could pre-register. Registration is open now actually. Then worst case scenario you're in but lost a couple blinds.

the points are pretty much meaningless and are just bragging points for the champion. unless someone wants to collect off line or collect via paypal you wont be able to set aside money like an actual league.
the payout will be determined after registration and the blinds/play will be just like the rest of the tournaments on pokerstars.

Maybe someone could get a company to sponsor a nice prize for the champ, eh Tim?

I still like some sort of bounty on the person to take out the Executioner. :)

Is the start time always going to be 6:30? 7:30 is WAY more doable for me going forward, but I shall try my best to make it.

Yes it is. Tell your boss you need to leave early for your second job.

Unfortunately, it's my wife and kids that make it difficult to break away for the evening that early, also, she is much harder to convince. LOL

mine too. i dont like $30, either.
but, on a side note, does anyone have an idea as to what to do with the points?
isnt there a way to set aside a % of the monies to award the league champ a "bonus?"
points could be accumulated based on how many players play an individual event. ie, 20 players would pay 20 pts for 1st place, 19 for 2nd, so on, so on. and, at the end of the year, player with most points wins a bonus set aside from each tourney?
just an idea.

Its a good idea, but I don't think there is a way to do it on Stars.

If I pre-register and make it in a few minutes late (golf league) will my time bank be gone once I get in there?
It would suck some major balls not being able to have a little time to think on a major hand later in the tourney.
Usually get home about 6:45 from golf.

If I'm not mistaken, you would only lose blinds and each hand dealt to you would be folded.

That's right. You can pre-register and if you are only 15 minutes later, your stack won't be impacted much at all.

I need to deposit at PS & never have. Anyone know what options work well with PS? Credit card? Check?
How about withdrawals? Anyone have any trouble making withdrawals there?

echeck takes about 30 seconds for the deposit. They no longer take my banks visa debit card.

I'm gonna see how many people register. Wanna play but am supposed to be at work at 9:00. I can leave my house at 8:30 and make it but I'm afraid 2 hours isn't enough time. Not that I'm saying I would last that long but you never know.

PokeyStick was taken out by haus.
TT All-in pre on a reraise to the cutoff...but the SB, who had me covered, called with AhKh.
Flop comes off...3 hearts.
And, good night.
Good tournament though.
Enjoyed it.

It was definitely enjoyable. A few big hands last night: 2 quads, and a straight flush.
My money hand last night was pocket 7s. I had them about 5 times, and all but one of those I flopped a set. The other time I ended up laying them down to Jeff when the board had two over cards and he came out heavy.
Speaking of Jeff, it was cool to play with him. It's pretty obvious that he's a really good guy at the table who isn't interested in showing people up. I appreciated the feedback on that fold.
