This might be the first time I've ever done that.

However, I still refuse to participate in Birthday threads.

What is a IED?

like a roadside bomb...but doesn't necessarily have to be on a road side.

don't really know any other details but hoping to have some soon.

from germany, he went to bethesda, maryland. he is getting ready to go to north carolina for inpatient therapy. he had about 20 different places where the shrapnel was lodged inside him, and one of those pieces chipped his hip bone. his left foot was crushed, and he pretty much has no big toe anymore. his right tibia was broken vertically. the worst now is that he has a big nerve that hasn't yet "awakened" after several weeks. he is slowly trying to get on his feet, but he's very weak and in a lot of pain. the doc says that the reality is that he might not walk again.

Yikes. I hope the doc is wrong. Here's to a speedy and full recovery.

I'm sorry to hear about all of it, quankie. There are plenty of people walking around today, doing all sorts of things, who were told they might never walk again...

If his mind is strong, and his will is powerful, he could...

My prayers are with him, and with all those that support him, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically..
