What's the face value on those things?

Here's the way mine breaks down for two tickets:

Fanfest 1 - $50
Fanfest 2 - $50
ASG - $420
Derby - $370
All-Star Sunday - $100
Scrub Harold Reynolds' Old Jockstrap - $175
All-Star Program - $24

Yes. They took the liberty of taking on an all-star program. At a cool grand plus, what's another $24?

Honestly, I was expecting to get shoved into the nosebleeds. My guess is that tickets behind the dugouts and the plate may have been given to advertisers.

They're charging you $420 and $1000 total if you want to attend the game and the AS festivities? Are you freakin kidding me? They realize this is an exhibition right?

It's not really a screw job if there's a market for it. I suppose the average fan who'd like to see the game may see it that way...but even then there would be astronomical demand if it was priced a little more...shall we say...down to earth.

I think the Cards and MLB know that whatever inventory is not bought by the common season ticket holder, they can easily sell to their corporate sponsors at maybe even more of a premium. I'm sure they set those prices accordingly.

Cheaper than I was figuring. We're in 261, so I'm assuming ours may be a little cheaper. We were told before the season started that MLB had informed the Cardinals that prices would be in line with the World Series. Tickets to a WS game were more than $210 a piece.

I think the Cards and MLB know that whatever inventory is not bought by the common season ticket holder, they can easily sell to their corporate sponsors at maybe even more of a premium. I'm sure they set those prices accordingly.

The Cardinals have nothing to do with ticket prices from what I understand. MLB sets those.

I think some people - myself included - expected to get moved elsewhere in the stadium to make room for the big wigs at Uncle Maury's Jizz Cream or other corporate sponsors.

They'd charge more if they could talk Sparky Anderson into raping Chet Lemon on the mound before the game.

Mine did not arrive yet. My coworker got his today and only got 2 of his 4 seats. That's what I was warned of, and am afraid of.

We got our 2 seats, but they're more expensive than what cramflang listed, which is quite confusing since we're in 261 compared to 167. Our ASG seats are $470 for the pair, and HR derby seats are $410 for the pair, both including taxes.

Since it's a group, we drew names to see who gets the seats. I ended up with HR derby. Having been to one already, I have little desire to go again. Looks like I'll be looking for someone with ASG tickets who wants to go to the derby instead. Not much luck finding that...

167 is considered outfield.
261 is considered 3rd base.

During a regular game 261 is only 1 dollar cheaper than 167. So by proximity to home is where they are charging you more.

I can see that. Just surprising that 261 is cheaper during the season but more expensive for the ASG. Either way, it was still a little cheaper than I was expecting.

$849.00 for two fucking LF bleacher seats. $295.00 for the ASG and $249.00 for HR Derby. $100.00 (just for the ASG) more than we paid for WS series tickets in '06? What a scam. I know I don't have to buy them, but I think we are going to take a chance and try to get dannydarko dad type cash selling the ASG tix.

What section are you in, and do you guys normally have two season tickets? Or do you have four and get bumped down to two?

I know. Row 10. I was thinking we might be able to get more money selling the HR derby instead of the ASG. I would rather go to the derby because of the location, but $$ tends to change my mind about things.

I talked to a family member who has tickets in the field boxes near home plate. Apparently the Cardinals offered season ticket holders in those areas 2 for 1 to move locations for All Star week. So he gave his 2 tickets back and ended up with 2 sets of 2 tickets elsewhere. Not a bad deal for those people.
