I've never eaten a hamburger. Ever. I'm guessing I'm the only person on this board that can make this claim. The visual texture of ground beef just grosses me out, yet I'll happily eat the hot dogs from Quiktrip.

It's definitely true. The closest I've come was a kindergarten field trip when my teacher tried to force to eat one from McDonald's. I took one bite, spit it out, and cried until they brought me some McNuggets.

Actually my list is pretty long and disturbing. I was picky as a child and my parents never really forced anything on me. This is pretty much my story as well, minus the gum part. This should be a cautionary tale for all the parents out there.

My 5 year old was the pickiest eater I've ever seen up until about 4 months ago...since then she's had meatloaf, green beans, eggs, spaghetti, tacos, hash browns, steak and mashed potatoes for the first time. I'm sure I'm missing plenty of stuff but she's liked everything she tried.

The first time we got Taco Bell as a family was a really special moment.

I will try any food, so If its been available to me I've tried it. I don't go to county/state fairs, so there are some fried foods (twinkies, etc) that I have not tried.

Also those who haven't tried Sushi, do so its the best. Start with something cooked and without a strong flavor like a Spider Roll (soft shell crab) and Unagi.

Do they go to a chicken farm in that movie? I've been to the Tyson chicken Farm in Corydon Indiana. Its pretty freak'n gross, but as long as they clean and cook the food I'll eat it. Hopefully some of those steroids they pump into those chickens reach my girly arms.

I felt tiny (I am not tiny) compared to some of these 5th grade girls last night at a school program.

Picky eaters might be my number one pet peeve.

I have a buddy who has to special order just about everything. Tacos-no lettuce. Cheeseburger-plain. Philly cheese steak- "Just cheese please"

He won't eat a condiment to save his life. He's one of my best friends, but this fact makes me want to push him in front of moving traffic.

How much of the fatness is because of the hormones and how much is because when I was in 5th grade all the kids in the neighborhood spent 3-4 hours running and playing after school and kids now just play video games and watch TV?

My picky brother seems to be mostly picky when it comes to healthy food. I have a friend who is exactly like your friend. The only meat he'll eat is Chicken and turkey, everything has to be plain, he won't eat most foods. I'd bet 90% of his diet is pretzels.
Its an absolute pain when we go out as a group to eat because it narrows down our options. We finally got to the point where, one of us will just declare that we are eating at ________ and who ever wants to go can go. This way he just excludes himself

As long as your buddy doesn't pull the "we can't eat here, I don't like the food" act, you have no reason to complain. If someone picks a restaurant, I don't complain. If it ends up being Mexican, I eat a plain quesadilla. If it ends up being Chinese, I get plain rice. If it ends up being sushi, I stay home. Often it is the non-picky people who make the situation worse by trying to be accomodating to the picky people.
