okay, so I sat down Monday night and kinda interviewed Nick, in hopes of making a column out of it. He was forthcoming after awhile, and the interview is kinda funny, and there is a genuine twist to the whole thing; which might make the idea more unique than it sounds.
Your thoughts on what overall reader interest might be to the premise of this idea, please...

The thing my wife and I like most about Maggie's columns is that it unfolds like a t.v. show....we're both eagerly waiting for Maggie and David to get on the Nick Experience...
I have to say my guess at the twist is that David had already told Nick about the column and that Nick is an avid reader of it...
the million to 1 odds is that Nick and David are secretly the ? asshat

He did live with us for a couple of months. He has his own place now.

Ok...couple of questions:
1) Is Nick Democrat or Republican?
2) Is he an only child?
3) When coloring, does he prefer markers or crayons?
4) What is his favorite color?
5) If he had to pick a super power, what would it be?
6) Would he play golf with a girl who has a pink golf bag?
7) Would he feel silly drinking a pina colada with an umbrella in it?
Ok...that is it. These are super important questions so please ask.
you're a fun date aren't ya

I think I am offended.
Sorry, I may follow up with a couple of those though. As I was writing the column last night, way too many of my questions were about me...go figure, huh?

I love going out on dates. There's always something to do ... even if it is just going for a few drinks.

Nope.
I enjoy going out and being regular people, as opposed to being "old married couple"... It really helps. You get to talk about things you just don't get to, or can't, when the kids are around. And it's likely the most time we've spent around each other, with nothing else going on, in quite a while..

I don't know much about marriage ... but it sounds like this is what makes a good one.

That's my idea of a good night out. I hate large social gatherings and bars fit in to that for me. When we were in our early 30's, we hung out with a friend and ended up downtown in "clubs" quite a bit. Totally not my thing at all.

Yeah... I spent more than enough time, and money, in the bars while I was in my 20s. I'm too old for that stuff now.
I would enjoy meeting some of the message board folks, but I'm not going downtown to some bar to do it.. I would consider a Happy Hour, but I'm not going downtown for that either...

But aren't you a hot, young babe?
