what do you prefer to play?
i think the turbos are too fast perhaps, it seems that people really get in all in mode pretty early in those. or maybe i should just get out of the tournament play all together. anyone have opinions on these?

I personally don't like the turbos, but some people really like them. I think both require different strategies and fit different styles. If you have a tight, patient style, then you are probably better suited for the normal tournaments. If you like to gamble and push small edges, then I would think the turbo's would be for you (you've got to accumulate chips fast in a turbo). One advantage turbo's have is that they finish fast so you can play many more turbo tournaments than you can the normal ones.

I would have to agree with Von here. I just think the turbos are a little too fast. I have found myself taking about 3/4 of the regular time in many situations.

and this is why i used to like them, but i think my style has changed since the last time i played online so much (about 3 years ago). and my new style doesnt play as well on these anymore. also i was used to 5 person turbo tables at sportsfanatic which i believe is shut down these days.

I prefer regular tournaments. Turbos seem like flipping coins - people have to shove all-in with any decent hand or else the blinds kill you.

I prefer regular tournaments, which to me seem like the correct way to play with a slower blind structure. Turbos turn into all in donkfests after a short while.

Turbos have their place, but don't favor the better players. Slower structures favor skill more, faster structures really cause you to end up taking coin flips situations and the like more often.

Turbo's used to be my sng grind, they tend to be better for the TAG players. There is a style of play that goes very well with turbo's. The only one I play anymore is the Turbo double shootouts on PS for the sunday million entry. I know I've mentioned this web site before, and I have no affiliation with them. But they have some very good players there and some very good articles. Here's a link to there strategy section.

I agree 100%...yet my results (esp. @ MTT Sit-n-Go's) would say otherwise.
