Ok so I'm looking to replace the wedges in my bag... what would be a good wedge to get without breaking the bank... I've been dicking around on Ebay and found some Callaway X Forged wedges going for around $50 new... should I do that?

Two things stick out in my mind.
1) Buying clubs from ebay is always a craps shoot. There are so many knock offs of clubs now days and it is very hard to tell while purchasing them off ebay. 2) I am not sure if the wedges you are looking at are used or not, but I will never buy a used wedge. A lot of the times, not all the time, people are looking to get rid of their current wedges because the grooves have been warn. With this said, I don't know what you should do. I am a huge Cleveland wedge fan, so my knowledge of the Callaways isn't there. I personally would look for the old Cleveland 588 series and go from there. Hope this helps. |

You can never go wrong with a Cleveland wedge.

Both nxtgr81 and noles#1 made great points. I’ve been looking for a 52 degree wedge. Pretty much everything that I’ve seen is $90 and up. The high end price seems to be $109, for that price you can get the top of the line Cleveland, Titleist, TaylorMade, Ping etc. A Callaway X Forged is a fine wedge but the $50 price on Ebay seems awfully suspicious.
